Originally from Bulgaria, I graduated in Brisbane, Australia with a Bachelor of IT and since then I have lived and worked in Brisbane, Sydney, Canberra and (currently) Melbourne. My career has always been in the Microsoft Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing space with previous employers ranging from small boutique consultancy companies such as Calumo to large consultancy organisations such as Oakton and Avanade. I have also worked as a contractor directly for the Australian Federal Government in the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations.
My current technical expertise lies strongly within the Microsoft BI and DW space. Throughout my career I have lead and participated in the development of a number of systems with SSAS, SSRS and SSIS, as well as PerformancePoint, Excel and SharePoint. I am also very proficient with data modelling (especially data warehouse and data mart modelling), as well as with SQL development.
With the recent developments in the in-memory and self-service BI space I am also taking active interest in PowerPivot development and I have participated in a number of projects utilising this newest addition to the Microsoft BI stack.
Since the benefits from a reporting solution are greatly enhanced by using best practice visualisation techniques, I am always exploring developments in this space, as well.
In conjunction with my passion for BI I am actively pursuing expansion of my knowledge and expertise in .NET development and SQL Server database administration.
In any work engagement my goal is to deliver best practice, expert advice to my clients. Feel free to contact me if you need my skills as described in the previous section. You can do so by the Contact Me link in the sidebar of this blog.
I would consider any offer – whether in Australia or abroad (for larger appointments). I can also deliver targeted Microsoft BI training in any field to small or larger groups.
